A pleasure to work with, Dr. Sue Young is a person never in a bad mood and always looking at the positive side of things. Good Karma generally looks after her but she seemed somewhat out of sorts when she came to the treatment room with an obese little Chihuahua cradled under her arms like a football.
How she managed to even pick up the Chihuahua was beyond me because you could see the dog was visibly upset. The dog's four legs were kicking and his head was thrashing from side to side like a snapping turtle. Snapping at the air it looking more like a vicious guard dog than someone's beloved pet.
With five veterinary nurses working that day you would think they would have rushed to give her a hand, but they all suddenly appeared busy and looked at Sue like she was crazy for holding the dog. Finally one of the nurses volunteered and the Chihuahua had his vaccinations and nails trimmed under protest without anyone getting bitten.
Sue returned the small dog to his caregiver and came back to the treatment room to right up her file. Sniffing a few times she said she detected feces and asked someone to have a look around in case the dog she carried had gone to the bathroom.
We try to keep our hospital very clean and two assistants looked around but couldn't not see any evidence so carried on. Sue walked around and prepared to go into her next appointment. Placing a stethoscope around her neck she paused again then shook her head and grabbed the file for the next appointment.
"I still smell something," she said and looked to make sure it wasn't smeared on her pants or smock. She looked clean but couldn't seem to shake the dog feces odour. "Maybe I will change my smock anyways ," she commented and reached in her pocket to take out her pen and eye glasses.
Sue froze……..she found the culprit. While carrying the Chihuahua he had gotten his final revenge and managed to defecate right inside her smock's pocket. Mystery solved.
