Dr. Ian Lawrie

Ian lawrie

 

Originally from Nova Scotia, Dr. Lawrie graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2002.  Ian then moved to British Columbia and joined the Island Veterinary Hospital team where he has a special interest in wildlife, exotic medicine and orthopedic surgery.  Ian has completed a Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) course, a new surgical technique for the repair of cranial cruciate rupture in the knees of dogs.

Dr. Lawrie enjoys many outdoor activities but especially wildlife photography and travel.  Ian and his wife, Sarah, are frequent travelers and have visited Alaska, India, Belize, Australia and New Zealand to photograph many different bird and animal species.  Together they have two English Mastiffs, Chilli and Cree, a Standard Poodle, Jackson, a Border Collie, Hazel and three cats Sponge Bob,  Jimmy and Kippers, as well as a 300 gallon fish tank with Discus.
