Dr. Lisa Schmidt

 

Lisa grew up in northern Alberta, southern Ontario and Manitoba. Lisa pursued her undergraduate training in Biochemistry before starting a Master’s degree in Nutritional Biochemistry at the University of Manitoba. Lisa received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She has a special interest in nutrition, dermatology, wildlife medicine, surgery and mucosal immunology.

Dr. Schmidt’s first love is swimming, although she may be caught running, cycling, in-line skating, skiing, hiking, etc. She is an avid SCUBA diver and has obtained the highest recreational diving certification. Lisa particularly enjoys diving shipwrecks and ice diving. She is also an avid amateur underwater photographer.

Dr. Schmidt adopted two adorable animals during her veterinary education. Ginger, an orange tabby cat, and Grace, her less than graceful, but very sweet, Border Collie Cross.
